Missouri

Missouri is known as the “Show Me State,” and the legends around how it got this name vary but one thing is for certain Missouri is definitely like its own little country. The people who know and love this place feel no need to show off because Missouri speaks for itself. First things first is people take their booze seriously here. If you have ever enjoyed a Bud Light you can thank Missouri for that. St. Louis is the home to Anheuser Busch distillery which is the birth place to this classic beer. That isn’t all though Missouri has 10 really swanky wine- trails wine trails throughout the state. You can treat yourself to scenic views, and gourmet food pairings. Never fear though because if that isn’t your style Missouri has arguably some of the most die-hard sports fans one can encounter. Baseball is the name of the game here and you won’t find any bandwagoners. Missourians live for their beloved Cardinals. To keep the fun going Missouri also has its own version of DisneyLand. Six Flags in St.Louis and World of Fun in Kansas city are childhood staples for Missourians. Last but not least, you can’t talk about Missouri without mentioning that Mark Twain grew up here and was the inspiration for The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. A classroom classic for most American Teenagers. The Mark Twain cave and surrounding attractions are a source of pride for any Missourian.
